The 'Classic & Sportscar' Magazine 'Back to Back' test, pitting my coupe against a Gilbern Genie - published in June 1984.
Finisher's medals and rally plates from the 1986/7/8 Norwich Union RAC Classic Rallys.
A specially commissioned 1 : 43 scale model of CAN, beautifully made in 2016 by Rory Cullen. Finished in Silver Steak and 1 of only 2 in this colour, from a production run of just 27 models. Updated with race numbers, as it appeared in the sprint at the 1986 National Rally in Bruntingthorpe.
Showing in concours and competing in autotests and speed events netted a few club trophies over the years. Most of these were binned several years ago, but I have kept some of the more significant ones, such as the rose bowl, the tankards, a couple of the larger shields and the big cup, awarded for a first in class at Goodwood, bit of a steal really, as I was the only class entrant!
Another 1 : 43 scale model, made by Rory Cullen, this time of a V6 Coupe, finished in Yellow and 1 of only 2 in this colour, from a production run of only 25 models. Rory has now made a close copy of my old V6, so this model has now been sold to fellow club member Phil Dearnley.
Rory Cullen made this specially commissioned model of GBG in 2018. The race numbers were a later addition, made by myself, as it appeared in a sprint meeting at North Weald in 1988.
I've been lucky to have three of my Scimitars grace the front cover of the excellent RSSOC (Reliant Sabre & Scimitar Owners Club) bi-monthly magazine 'Slice'. My Straight Six Coupe appeared on the cover of the centenary edition back in March/April 1988, my competition SS1 shared the cover of 'Slice No. 119' in May/June 1991 and my current SS1 was on 'Slice No. 291' in January/February 2020. The images on the two earlier editions were taken by myself, whilst the one of my current SS1 was taken at Shere Hill Climb by Robert Clayson Photographic.
